Premiere of Marvel’s ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Officially Delayed
We’ve got some sad news for Marvel fans. One of the most hotly anticipated Marvel titles is “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” which was slated to be the first Marvel series to debut on the new Disney+ streaming network. The project has been generating a ton of bus with rumors circulating that Falcon may in line to be the next Captain America. However, according to a recent piece in The Verge the project which was expected to drop in August has been delayed.

The project was shooting in Eastern Europe when it was forced to pause production back in May due to the continued threats of COVID-19. As of going to print, Disney DOES NOT have a new premiere date for the show. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is expected to pick up where Avengers: Endgame Ended. With Anthony Mackie fully expected to take over the role of Captain America after Steve Rogers decided to hang up his shield.
Disney has been pretty tight lipped about further details for the series. However, they did give us a sneak peek of Marvel projects on the horizon during a teaser that ran during the Super Bowl. You can check that out below:
In the clip above you can also see two other Marvel-based Disney+ series in the pipeline – WandaVision and Loki. As you can see, the clip does show Sam practicing using the shield. Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) is also returning in the show and reuniting with Zemo. As The Verge tells us, the character played by Daniel Bruhl actually first appeared in Captain America: Civil War back in 2016.

In addition to the series mentioned above, two other Marvel Studio productions Black Widow and The Eternals have had their theatrical releases delayed. Black Widow will now debut on November 6th and The Eternals on February 12, 2021. As of going to print, we’ve no word on whether WandaVision which was recently moved from a December 2020 premiere to an early 2021 premiere will be impacted further.
