During these unprecedented times, its important to know that health and safety is at the forefront of Disney’s reopening plans. If you visit Hollywood Studios and EPCOT this summer, there are some important changes that you’ll want to be made aware off. Each of the parks will be implementing mandatory temperature checks, social distancing will be enforced at all lines and queues. Mandatory facemasks are required at all times and the must tie in the back or go over the ears. Gaiters, scarves etc, will not be accepted. Capacity will also be limited at the theme parks meaning you may notice that it’s not quite as busy as before. The perk of this is that you won’t need to wait in long lines for many of your favorite attractions.
In addition, Disney would encourage cashless payments whenever possible. That could mean using Magic Bands or mobile phones to pay for goods including eats and treats through the Mobile Ordering section of the My Disney Experience website.
Now that we’ve gotten the logistics out of the way, let’s talk about some of the highlights you can now enjoy during your theme parks visit.
A Taste of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival – Visitors to Epcot will now be able to enjoy delicious eats and treats from around the world with the over 20 International Kitchens that have been set up around the World Showcase. In addition there will be a scavenger hunt for the kids, fun festival merchandise cover both Food and Wine and the Flower and Garden Festival, entertainment and so much more. The Food & Wine Festival will run through the Fall making it the longest festival ever. So if you’re visiting Epcot in 2021 be sure to bring your appetites!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – We were just getting acquainted with the planet of Batuu at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when our visit to a Galaxy far, far away came to a screeching halt. But you can once again head over to Black Spire Outpost where you can live out your Star Wars dreams. You’ll find incredible dining, awesome merchandise, incredible rides and possibile a sighting of some of your favorite Star Wars characters during your visit here!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – No sooner had this attraction opened then it was closed down due to COVID-19. It will be awesome to see it back in all its splendor especially because it is the the first attraction devoted to Mickey and Friends. You’ll find it inside the iconic Chinese Theater at the center of Disney’s Hollywood Studios where it replaced the Great Movie Ride!
