A representative told PEOPLE Magazine that the actress passed away on Sunday morning and that during her battle with cancer Preston had made the choice to keep her fight private. The spokesperson added, “She had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.”
Preston had not been seen out publicly since 2018 when she attended the premiere of Gotti for which she stared alongside her husband. The actress has done a few projects for Disney including Sky High where she played the role of Josie DeMarco-Stronghold/Jetstream. She also played Vicki Greer in the 2009 Disney comedy Old Dogs along with her husband John Travolta and her daughter Ella Bleu.
Prior to marrying John Travolta Preston had high profile romances with George Clooney and Charlie Sheen (to whom she was briefly engaged.) She is preceded in death by her son Jett who passed away in 2009 after a seizure while the family was on vacation in the Bahams. Preston and Travolta are renowned members of the Church of Scientology whose support they credit with getting them through the grief after Jett’s passing.
Preston also has a daughter Ella Blue with Travolta who was born in 2009 and a son Benjamin who was born in 2010 when Preston was in her late forties.
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to Preston’s family, friends and colleagues.
