MickeyBlog Exclusive: Kilimanjaro Safaris Ride Vehicle Breaks Down, Needs To Be Towed Off Track This Morning
Its another day of excitement as MickeyBlog heads over to Animal Kingdom to celebrate its reopening! We’ve been missing our Disney animal friends something terrible so decided to hit up Kilimanjaro Safari’s as soon as we arrived. What happened next was something slightly unexpected.
Let’s take a look:

Head over to the 30 minute mark and ride the Kilimanjaro Safaris with us where you’ll see that a ride vehicle had broken down this morning.
We managed to board smoothly enough. As you can see from the image above the plastic dividers are placed between each of the benches on the jeeps. Because the ride itself comes in at around 20 minutes, this is to keep guests safe.
Masks are also required on the ride.
Or jeep barely had the chance to leave the station when maintenance teams were pulling the ladder stored underneath our jeep in order to evacuate guests in the jeep ahead of us.
As you can see from the image above, guests are being escorted off of the vehicle directly in front of us.
They are being lead through the depot. Its unclear whether they will be moved to the front of the line to get on the next available vehicle.
Once the ride vehicle was emptied, it was a waiting game to get the vehicle off the track.
The driver of the vehicle in front of us came round to let us know that the safari was experiencing technical difficulties and that a tow truck would shortly be arriving on the scene.
After about a 10 minute wait the vehicle in front of us is being towed off the track and we’re on our way!
It looks like the guests from the previously evacuated truck are being held at the station where it looks like another vehicle will pick them up.
Within minutes we find ourselves in the middle of the safari with giraffes grazing in the distance.
It was an interesting way to start the morning but we have to commend Disney’s efficiency in resolving the issue! And all in all it didn’t stop of from saying “Hakuna Matata!”
Keep following along with us as we spend the day at Animal Kingdom. We’ll be coming to you with more stories, live video and more!
