Downtown Disney is Set to Reopen July 9th With CoronaVirus Modifications
Disneyland resorts and theme parks remain closed with no known reopening date, but a little magic is coming back to California with the opening of Downtown Disney this week.
New Health and Safety precautions will be in place, including temperature checks, mandatory face coverings and limited capacity. See the “Know Before You Go” portion of Disneyland’s website for information before you visit.
The precautions are based on guidance from health officials and the Center for Disease Control. Guests with temperatures over 100.4 will be asked to leave and face coverings will be required for guests age 2 years old and up.
Physical Barriers, hand washing stations, hand sanitizer and social distancing markers will also be provided.
Operating hours will be from 10am to 8pm daily with some businesses offering limited activities if there are high touch areas or operating hours could be further reduced. Entertainment has been temporarily suspended. Guests will be directed to self-park at Simba lot (at Disneyland Drive and Katella Ave). Please follow signs for clearly defined entrances and exits.
“Guests may see other changes to our retail and dining offerings, as well as other experiences,” Disney’s website states. “Though it will be a bit different from the last time you visited, these new measures are designed to still offer a magical Disney experience.”
The theme parks were originally going to re-open the week after Downtown Disney, but those plans did not pass the state level and were suspended. The parks are currently closed “indefinitely”.
