A Quick Look at the Set-Up For Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at Magic Kingdom
During our visit to Magic Kingdom today, we stopped by one of our favorite spots to grab a quick bite to eat- Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom.
Now if you’ve been to Cosmic Ray’s in the past you’ll know that the restaurant is known for fixins’ bar, huge dining room but also massive crowds. I read once that its the businest restaurant in the world. Whether or not that’s true I don’t know but the fact that it could be true indicates that this restaurant has a lot of social distancing work to do.
That’s why we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d take some time to show you how things have changed at this Quick Service eatery to prepare you for your visit!
There are alot of tables available at Cosmic Ray’s but not all of them will be available to guests. In order to keep guests a safe distance from one another, signs on the tables let guests no that some tables need to be left empty.
Disney is working across its theme parks to make your dining experience as contactless as possible. Guests are encouraged to order your food online using the My Disney Experience app so that you can avoid the queues. This means that you order and pay for your meai using your phone and then simply visit the designated mobile pick-up area like the one above to collect your order.
Signs are up throughout the restaurant encouraging contactless payment.
As you can see from the image above, plexiglass now surrounds the kitchen area! You’ll also notice many of the usual favorites are back on the menu including cheeseburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and chicken nuggets.
French Fries are available as a side. We’re also pleased that the kid’s meals are back including the Uncrustable sandwiches. And for dessert who’s hungry for Smores!!
As you can see from the image above, each of the Bays has social distancing markers for ordering and pickup. You’ll also notice plexiglass around the individual cashier stations
The dining room was definitely not as busy at it usually is but there were still quite a few people. But the signs did keep everyone equally spaced.
Another thing that is gone from the restaurant are the stations to add your own condiments to your burger or hotdog. These have been removed for health and safety reasons.
We’ll be at Walt Disney World all week to cover reopening so keep following along with MickeyBlog for further news and updates!
