On Monday afternoon, Cameron’s close friend and co-star on the Descendants films, Dove Cameron let a heartfelt message on Instagram saying, “One year without your light. Something cosmic broke the day you left, something seemingly so impossible, so unjust, so unnatural.” She added, “The universe cannot repair the gap in her weaving. You were huge. I will love you forever, just like this.”

Last July, the world woke astonished to the news of Cameron Boyce’s passing. His family confirmed that his death was due to complications from epilepsy. His family said in a statement at the time, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
At the time the Disney Channel also released this statement, “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend.
