Jock Lindsey’s Reopens at Disney Springs Today After Change To Florida State Bar Laws
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, an Indiana Jones themed watering hole in Disney Springs reopened recently to much fanfare only to close a day or two later due to a new rule put in place by the State of Florida! However, we are pleased to let you know that it know has officially reopened AGAIN.
If that sounds confusing, its because it is! The bar opened last month. However, within days of getting up and running, Governor Ron DeSantis launched a new policy designed the control the rabid spread of COVID-19 in the state of Florida. Under the new ordinance, all bars were ordered to close their doors to the public until further notice.
For this reason, Jock’s was forced to close. However, they are now open due to an amendment to the executive order outlined above. There is a slight technicality in the order that says as long as establishments sell food they are able to reopen provided that capacity limitations and social distancing practices are put into place.
Below is a tweet from Scott Gustin that shows the new order. As the tweet says, on July 1st, the order was amended to allow vendors that are licensed to sell alcohol and food to operate at 50% capacity.

In addition to Jock Lindsey’s being able to reopen, the news was also shared this weekend that Oga’s Cantina the beloved bar at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge can now open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when the theme park reopens on July 15th. Reservations for Oga’s are essential and a valid park pass reservation is required to visit Hollywood Studios. You can find out more information on disneyworld.com.
