Disney World’s Monorail System Is Getting Ready To Welcome Back Visitors
As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, the Walt Disney World Monorail system is expected to be up and running when the theme parks open their gates. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will be opening on July 11th with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios opening a few days later on July 15th.
Our MickeyBlogger was on the scene this 4th of July weekend and managed to capture some awesome images of the system being put through its paces in anticipation of guests arriving next week.
When we visited Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this weekend we could see the monorails taking a test run.
Both express services as well as resort service including Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Resort are expected to be included in the routes.
As you can see, new health and safety protocols are now prominently posted at the monorail stations. This includes the mandatory use of face masks, social distancing and hand sanitation procedures.
Reports have been trickling in over the past week regarding what Disney transportation links will be returning. Scott Gustin posted an updated schedule on Twistter this week that indicated that Disney’s Skyliner system which takes guests between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Take a look at his tweet below:

As you can see from the post above Resort boats from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are set to resume on July 11th. As of going to print, no opening date has been set for the friendship boats at the EPCOT resorts or the boats taking guests to and from the Port Orleans properties to Disney Springs.
We don’t know about you but we think it sure is nice to see the monorails back in action!
