Despite an increase in COVID-19 numbers in the state, Disney has announced that they will push forward with their opening plans. Select DVC properties are currently welcoming guests and Disney Springs is open. Both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom theme parks are slated to open on July 11th with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios following four days later on July 15th.
However, not all unions representing Disney cast members are happy with the company’s reopening plans. As we reported earlier today here at MickeyBlog, Actors’ Equity has turned down the reopening proposal for performers saying that because stage performers must remain unmasked, COVID-19 testing should be provided by the company. Disney has not agreed to to do this. You can find out more here.
We’ll be following both stories closely and readers are encouraged to keep checking in with us for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates.
