Six Players Test Positive for COVID-19 Prior to the MLS is Back Tournament
Major League Soccer is slated to start tournament play next Wednesday at Walt Disney World Florida. The League is using the “bubble” approach (much like NBA) in order to keep their players, coaches and families safe from contracting COVID-19 or spreading COVID-19 during the tournament. The players will play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to empty seats.
Before beginning the tournament, MLS tested 392 players, coaches, staff and families at the host hotel in Orlando. After these tests, six players tested positive all FC Dallas players. Two were flagged before arriving in Orlando, and the other four after getting to the complex. All players have been isolated. The team released the following statement:

Before coming to Orlando all players and coaches were required to have two negative tests at least 24 hours apart. Once they arrived each person was required to have another negative test and remained in isolation until the results of that test were available.
Players testing positive were placed in an isolation area at the Swan and Dolphin hotels which are located on Disney property.
The tournament will run from July 8th – August 11th. Each team will participate in three group-stage matches which will count toward their regular season tally. After those games are played, a 16 team knockout tournament will begin.
