Trailer Is Out For the New Unscripted Muppet Series Coming to Disney+

It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights…! Disney+ has just released the trailer for their NEW unscripted Muppets series and we couldn’t be more exciting! The series will debut on Disney’s streaming network on June 31st.

As RollingStone tells us, the 6 episode series will star Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of the crew as they perform improv and sketch comedy complete with some very special celebrity guests. Though not all of the guest stars have been revealed, from the trailer below we get a glimpse of Seth Rogan, Aubrey Plaza and RuPaul.

Even though the series is unscripted we have been told that there is an overall story-arc which follows Scooter who is rushing to make deliveries so that Muppets Now can premiere in time for streaming.

The series was first announced back in May and will be directed by Kirk Thatcher who also directed the 2002 special It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. Thatcher also co-wrote Muppet Treasure Island and The Muppets Wizard of Oz. The series will also be noteworthy in that it marks the first time where Matt Vogel performs as Kermit the Frog after Steve Whitmire was fired.
