Disneyland Cast Members Are Returning and New Working Conditions Have Been Revealed
Disneyland’s reopening date has been pushed back indefinitely. Returning cast members are, however, finding out what safety measures will be in place when they do return. The opening was pending government approval and with the spread of COVID-19 in the state of California, the guidelines cast members already were aware of might just be the beginning.
All of these new rules and regulations are designed to keep cast members safe from the possible spread of COVID-19. This is the new normal for many people worldwide and these precautions at the theme parks will enable guests to return. Without them, it would not be safe for people to either work or play in the parks.

Cast members will be asked to complete an in-home health screening asking if they have symptoms, or a temperature. If they answer “yes” to any of the questions they will need to stay home and isolate. Once they get to work an additional temperature screening will occur. Masks will be required for all cast members and six-feet social distancing rules will be in place. Hand sanitizer will be everywhere.
According to several sources, recalls will be done in order of seniority with full-time before part-time cast members. Cast members will receive their recall seven days before they are expected to return.

Cast Members recently wrote a letter to the California Governor asking him not to allow the theme parks to open due to concerns over the workers safety with COVID-19 continuing to spread.
The college program, suspended in March, is not expected to return until all cast members have been offered a recall.

Returning to work for many employees and many business is more complicated than anyone ever thought. With no cure or vaccine currently for the virus, the safety of cast members and employees is a real concern.
