Star Wars: Shadow Fall Now Available
Firstly, I love Star Wars books. And I genuinely enjoy the context in which they place the films and TV shows. However, it’s rare when I am disappointed when a book is finished; like I want more.
Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron was one of those books. Nary an appearance by any film-familiar characters. However, the inclusion of Hera Syndulla (Star Wars Rebels) made for a terrific way to keep my brain occupied (via Audible). Especially while I mowed and worked in the yard.
You’d be surprised just how exciting working around the house can be with the backdrop of a Star Wars novel.

So, when I heard that Alexander Freed, whose work I previously enjoyed via the Star Wars: Rogue One and Star Wars: Battlefront – Twilight Company novels, was coming back with an “Alphabet Squadron Part 2”; well, I was simply excited.
Q & A With The Author Of Shadow Fall
And, in the few minutes, after I purchased the book on Audible, I saw that StarWars.com’s Amy Richau sat down with Freed for a Q & A.
Here are just a couple questions from the piece…
StarWars.com: I enjoyed the relationship between Hera Syndulla and Quell in Shadow Fall. They respect each other but aren’t best buddies. How would you describe their relationship in this book?
Alexander Freed: Hera sincerely wants to mentor Quell, but she’s a general now — she doesn’t have the time to be as hands-on as she was in the past, and has to make do with the opportunities she’s given. Quell, meanwhile, longs for a mentor but isn’t ready to trust Hera with her secrets — even though she recognizes that Hera is the sort of person she aspired to be.
StarWars.com: There’s a new group introduced in Shadow Fall, which one character describes as a cult. Will we be hearing from them again in the next book?
Alexander Freed: Let’s just say that the cult has had a significant impact on one of our lead characters, and that impact will continue to be felt in a major way. Anything else would be saying too much!
