Celebrating Our Favorite Disney Dads This Father’s Day
One of the annoyingly endearing things about fathers is that they are known for their little kernels of knowledge. Because art imitates life, it is no different when it comes to the dads of Disney!
To celebrate Father’s Day we thought we’d share with you some of our favorite words of wisdom for some of the Disney dads that we love the most. Let us know if your favorite dad quote is included on the list!
Oh, and before we get started, I just wanted to mention that if these quotes make you nostalgic for any of the Disney films you’re in luck.
You can find them all on Disney+!
“Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars… So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you. And so will I.”—Mufasa in The Lion King (1994)
I’ve always considered Mufasa to be the ultimate Disney dad! He is truly the kind of them all and from a very young age wants to instil in Simba a sense of his greater purpose. Even after he’s gone his words (literally) still ring loud and clear.
“Go on… ”—Professor Porter in Tarzan (1999)
Aww, Professor Porter. Jane’s dad could see that his daughter had fallen for Tarzan and didn’t want to stand in her way.
Short and sweet, the quote above is letting her know that she is old enough to maker her own choices.
“We’re not cooks, but we are family. You tell us what to do, and we’ll get it done.”—Django in Ratatouille (2007)
Remy’s dad Django may not be the best about communicating his feelings but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care. It takes him a while to warm up to it by Django eventually recognizes his son’s talent as a Chef and lends him a hand just when he needs it the most.
“You are the future of our people, Moana. They are not out there. They are right here. It’s time to be who they need you to be.”—Chief Tui in Moana (2016)
Chief Tui, tries to impart to Mona the importance of serving as a model to the villagers. Though she might not have choosen the path that the Chief would’ve liked for her, Moana did it her way and did manage to save her people.
She knew what was required of her and ultimate dad came around to the fact that his daughter has a different way of doing things.
“You are my greatest adventure… and I almost missed it.”—Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible in The Incredibles (2004)
We love all the members of the Parr family but admittedly have a special soft spot for Mr. Incredible. In the first film, Bob Parr, when trying to thwart Syndrome’s evil plan realizes that Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack will always come first.
