Disney Urges Guests to Utilize Online Check-In Service
In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic and the theme parks slowly opening back up, Disney is taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of its guests and Cast Members. One of those precautions is urging guests to use the Online Check-In feature from their app or computer before arrival.
Online Check-In allows you to go ahead and check into your room, skipping the front desk altogether. They are calling it Direct-to-Room Service. Direct-to-Room Service helps Disney Resort hotel Guests simplify their arrival while still enjoying a magical Disney welcome, also aiding in distancing efforts and avoiding delays.
How does Direct-to-Room Service work?
Follow these simple steps to enjoy Direct-to-Room service at your Disney Resort hotel:
- Link your Disney Resort hotel reservation to your Disney Account
- Use the Online Check-In service prior to arrival
- On your arrival day, use the My Disney Experience app to get real-time Resort reservation updates, including a notification when your room is ready
- When you receive notice that your room is ready, simply use the My Disney Experience app to find your room and unlock your door with either your MagicBand or the Unlock Door feature on the app
Who is eligible to use the Direct-to-Room service?
If you are a Disney Resort hotel Guest, you are able to take advantage of the Direct-to-Room service once you have used the Online Check-In service. To enter your room, you also need to have a MagicBand handy, or a device that can use the Unlock Door feature on the My Disney Experience app. Direct-to-Room is available at all Disney Resort hotels.
What if I arrive before my room is ready?
Enable notifications when using the Online Check-In service so we can notify you when your room is ready. Also, be sure to install the My Disney Experience app to see real-time room ready updates.
Check-in time for all Disney Resort hotels is 3:00 PM, except for Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, which have a check-in time of 4:00 PM.
Prior to checking into your room, you can use your active MagicBand or the Unlock Door feature on the My Disney Experience app to gain access to certain areas in your Disney Resort hotel, such as the pool.
If you have a Disney dining plan, you can start using it before your room is available and enjoy a refillable drink mug, tasty snack or a delicious meal at any of the Quick-Service locations in the hotel.
What If I Am Unable to Complete the Steps for the Direct-to-Room Service?
Cast Members are happy to assist with your arrival. Please see a Cast Member in the lobby entrance area or at the Front Desk.
Of course, you can always visit the Front Desk at your resort if there are any problems. Just stop by or tap “Front Desk” on your Disney Resort hotel room phone for personal assistance 24 hours a day.
