Best Desserts at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is renowned mostly for its four theme parks, however, another important component to the Disney experience is dining. Disney World offers several dining locations where people are able to enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Most of these restaurants also provide a dessert option, though only a select few can boast about having what are universally known as fan favorites. Here are the best Disney desserts and they’re so desirable.
Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse
Available at Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom this colorful Pandoran treat is not only visually pleasing, it is also pleasing to the taste buds.
Topped with a passion fruit curd, whipped cream, and a slab of white chocolate, this dessert has a very fruity flavor and is one of the tastiest desserts in all of Animal Kingdom.
‘Ohana Bread Pudding á la Mode
For those who love bread pudding, this may be the best one out there. Available at ‘Ohana, inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, it’s topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and bananas.
This dessert is very rich and flavorful. It is regarded by many as one of the best desserts in all of Disney World.
S’mores Baked Alaska
If you want to try this signature dessert at The Boathouse in Disney Springs, you may have to bring the entire family. It’s so large that it serves four people!
It also often gets stares from awestruck diners when waiters bring it over to a table. Made from graham cracker crust, rocky road ice cream, toasted marshmallows, and milk chocolate, this is one of the biggest and most filling desserts you’ll find at Walt Disney World.
Fried Wontons
Yak & Yeti is one of the best restaurants in Animal Kingdom, and it also happens to serve one of the best desserts. The fried wontons are another fruity dessert, as the wontons are paired with pineapple and served on skewers.
The dish also comes with strawberries and is drizzled in a honey-vanilla sauce. This is a personal favorite of mine and many others, and I always make sure to order it when I dine at Yak & Yeti.
Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake
Since Liberty Tree Tavern inside Magic Kingdom is a family style restaurant, it is the only dessert the restaurant serves. That’s not a problem though because everyone loves it.
The whole family can share this dessert which is a vanilla toffee cake topped with a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauces, and little chocolate and toffee bits. Another personal favorite of mine, I look forward to having it every time I get the chance to dine at Liberty Tree Tavern.
Kitchen Sink
The S’mores Baked Alaska isn’t the only dessert on this list that serves four. The Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop (located between Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club)is an enormous sundae, filled with scoops of several different flavors of ice cream in addition to having every single topping Beaches & Cream has to offer.
This dessert is a real challenge to finish, though people love it because every spoonful gives you a different flavor than the last due to all of the ingredients. This is one of the most recognizable and desired desserts in all of Disney World.
Dole Whip
Though Pineapple Lanai and Aloha Isle are more of a snack stand than a restaurant, this list wouldn’t be complete without the Dole Whip. Served in your choice of pineapple, vanilla, or a swirl, this is a classic Disney dessert/snack.
It is a tasty way to cool down from the Florida heat. Though the Dole Whip used to only be found at Pineapple Lanai in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, it can now be found in several other locations throughout Walt Disney World!
Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar
Last but not least is the most popular Disney dessert/snack there is. The Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar has been a favorite of many for years, and can be enjoyed by all ages.
While more of a snack than a dessert, many people choose to forgo dessert at their restaurant and head to one of the many snack carts throughout Walt Disney World for this treat.
The simple vanilla ice cream with a chocolate shell in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head just can’t be beat. You can find these all over Walt Disney World and enjoy them as much as you please.
