Mark Hamill Gives a Lightsaber to A Nurse During Jimmy Kimmel Live! Saying “You’re the Real Hero.”
The Force is strong with Mark Hamill after a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The actor, who Star Wars fans know as Luke Skywalker in the films, was on hand for a surprise of galactic proportions.
Hamill was on hand to pay tribute to Chloe Ducose a nurse from San Diego who has been out in a tent, in the heat, testing people for coronavirus. As you can see from the clip we’re sharing below, Jimmy Kimmel asks Chloe if she’s a Star Wars fan and how many times she’s watched the film. Ducose she said, “A lot. let’s just put it that way.”
Kimmel then decides to treat Chloe Ducose to a very special surprise. Let’s take a look:
We love the way that Hamill channelled Luke Skywalker to say, “The Force is strong with you.” In another touching moment in the interview, Hamill says, “I’m a pretend hero, you’re the real-life hero. Thank you for your service.”
As a thank you for her contributions in the fight against COVID-19, Jimmy Kimmel announced that Chloe would be gifted $10,000 by PayPal to spend on whatever she’d like. Hammill also added that he is going to gift Ducose with a signed lightsaber.
We can’t think of a more touching way to show support for those on the frontlines. As a recent piece in People, as of Monday, there have been over 7 million confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide with 1.9 million of those located within the U.S.
