Disneyland Resort Sets Reopening Dates
We have some super exciting news to pass along! Disneyland has just confirmed that they have submitted plans to local and state government to being reopening the Resort beginning next month!
If/when approved, the Downtown Disney District will reopen beginning July 9. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen on July 17. Finally, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as well as Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will begin welcoming Guests again on July 23. No word on when the Disneyland Hotel will reopen.
The July 17 reopening date for Disneyland Park is a super-special date as this will mark 65 years since the magic of the Park started and was originally opened!
The Parks will open with limited capacity, and just like Walt Disney World, a new theme park reservation system will be implemented. All Guests, including Annual Passholders, will be required to make an advanced reservation to get into the Parks. More details on this system will be announced at a later date. To prepare for Disneyland reopening, ticket sales as well as Annual Passholder sales and renewals have been frozen.
Upon Disneyland reopening, a few entertainment options in the Parks will be temporarily suspended. This includes parades and fireworks. Characters meet and greets will also be suspended but your favorite Disney Pals will still be in the Parks to delight and entertain Guests in a whole new fashion!
In addition to a reservation system to gain access to the Parks, several new health and safety health protocols will go into effect on Disneyland’s reopening at the Parks, Hotels, and Downtown Disney. A Guest Experience Team will be on hand to help Guests with any questions.
At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian, social distancing measures will be introduced as well as increased sanitation guidelines.
Once approved, Downtown Disney will reopen on July 9 including the flagship World of Disney Store. To make sure all Guests and Cast Members stay healthy and safe, several operational changes will be introduced based on guidance from health authorities to promote social distancing and cleanliness throughout the complex.
