New Star Wars Theory: Darksaber = MacGuffin
Will the Darksaber spawn a second live-action show?
It’s not a leak, and it’s more of a rumor, but it makes some sense so let’s call it an, um, theory. Yeah. That’s it. It’s a theory about The Mandalorian and the unnamed (also theoretical) “Ahsoka Tano” series.
I jest, of course. However, the guys over at the WeGotThisCovered.com uncovered a source:
According to sources close to WGTC – the same ones who told us Ahsoka was coming to The Mandalorian back in December, well before it was officially announced – a major villain will return for the heroine’s solo show. And we’re hearing that this villain is none other than Moff Gideon, Giancarlo Esposito’s big bad on The Mandalorian…
From what we understand, Gideon will be on the hunt for Ahsoka and Sabine Wren in the show, and the reason why is because they’ve taken the Darksaber from him and he wants it back. It’s unclear when the duo gets hold of the powerful Mandalorian weapon, but it’s possible this happens in The Mandalorian season 2. If so, that will mean the spinoff will be a direct offshoot of the smash-hit series and not just related to it.
Wait. Was Ahsoka ever officially announced? I can’t keep track.
Anyway. There’s a cottage industry covering Star Wars leaks and spoilers and theories. And MickeyBlog busted quite a few bytes on Ahsoka recently.
Ahsoka Tano to be Portrayed By Rosario Dawson In The Mandalorian?
But this here “Darksaber theory” makes good sense. And we’ve written that the last time we fans saw the Darksaber it was in Bo-Katan’s hands.
Well, the last time we saw it before it was in Gideon’s hands.
Did we mention that Bo-Katan is in The Mandalorian?

Also not confirmed by anyone official.
Anyhoo. We are VERY excited about the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Aren’t you?
