Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures: Empire at 40
At the moment, while many are getting ready to hit the beach or the theme park this weekend, in Massachusetts, we’re still slowly emerging from quarantine. No matter. We’ve got YouTube, Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures. And it’s the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Recently, This Week! In Star Wars teased these shorts, but — as it is sometimes hard to compete with all the Minecraft and Roblox stuff out there — we thought we’d give fans a reminder that this series is a perfect entree to the Saga.
Reminder, these are NOT supposed to be a direct to anime from video representation of our favorite stories. Rather, think of these shorts in the same way that C3PO told his story of the Rebellion against the Empire on the forest moon of Endor.

As a matter of fact, Threepio does a little bouncing around the story and adds some embellishment. These shorts do the same thing, and that might just be the difference between your watching yet another play-through video and your favorite space opera.
The official Star Wars YouTube account explained, “Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures is a series of animated shorts celebrating the characters and stories of a galaxy far, far away, featuring a bright and colorful art style, exciting action, and insight into the saga’s greatest themes!”
