Where Will the NBA Stay When They Play at Walt Disney World?
It’s all but a done deal that the NBA will be coming to Walt Disney World to finish their season. There is a NBA Board of Governors meeting this Thursday to finalize the plans but all signs point to it happening. So, now the question remains, “Where will the players, coaches, and staff stay?” And, we think we have the answer!
Per my research it’s looking like the NBA may stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Jambo House or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Today, Yahoo Sports NBA Writer, Keith Smith on Twitter, @KeithSmithNBA tweeted the following:
Per Walt Disney World sources, Disney and the NBA have agreed that Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is likely to be the primary host resort for the NBA when they resume the season. Sources say an agreement may be reached this week, which will allow preparations to move quickly.

Per that bit of information, it looks like the NBA Players will stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort when the season starts up again.
However, I have also come across something interesting on the DVC site. While the Walt Disney World quoting and reservation system continues to be down for non-DVC Members to book their next vacation, DVC members can. Earlier this week, there was inventory showing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House, but today that inventory is gone or “wait list only” for the rest of the year. All other DVC Resorts continue to show inventory.
To throw another wrench into the various scenarios, it’s also been rumored that Major League Soccer may resume their season at Walt Disney World as well.
Personally, I see the NBA staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. In addition to being a rather large resort with the brand new Gran Destino Tower, there is also a massive convention center on property that could be converted to additional basketball courts in addition to the courts at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. So, maybe rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House has been put aside for Major League Soccer?
As with everything going on right now, this continues to be a very fluid situation. Make sure to keep following along with us here at MickeyBlog.com for all the latest! We will be the first to let you know the NBA has confirmed a deal with Walt Disney World along with where they will stay.
