UPDATED: GMA Covers Ahmed Best’s Return To Star Wars
Character In Jedi Temple Challenge May Have A Mace Windu Connection
Most fans know Ahmed Best for his work as Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
Today, Best re-introduced himself as Master Kelleran Beq to ABC News’ Clayton Sandell.
Best, who went through some terrible times, based mostly on toxic fandom in regard to his character, is back.
“Everything you know about the Star Wars universe contained in this one space,” said Best in describing Jedi Temple Challenge.
“I loved watching those kids step on set and just [marvel],” he continued. “And I really want kids to watch the show and feel like — not only that [they] want to be there — but if I train, if I practice, if I work I could actually be there.”
A Star Wars Fan

Being there is important to Best, who remains a huge Star Wars fan.
And, as a fan, the level of creative control he had over his character is gratifying. And, it should be VERY interesting to Star Wars fans at large.
His secondary character in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones — Achk Med-Beq — is related to Master Beq.
“I wanted to tie Kellaran Beq and Achk Med Beq together,” said Best. “We don’t know if they’re twin brothers, we don’t know if Kellaran is Achk Med’s father or son. We don’t know where [Kellaran] is in the timeline, yet.
“We’ll soon find out, hopefully.”
What About Windu?
Best also explained there exists a relationship between Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson’s ill-fated Jedi character) and Kellaran, which he was working to make “a thing” in the show.
“And there were some things that I gleaned from Sam Jackson playing Mace Windu that I used as Kelleran, as well.”
