Disneyland Annual Passholders Being Surveyed About Potential Reopening Policies
Though Disneyland has yet to officially announce an opening date, they have sent a survey out to Annual Passholders to gauge how receptive regular Disney-goers are to policies and procedures that might be put into place at the theme parks before reopening.
According to a recent report appearing in the Ocean County Register, Disneyland pass holders are being asked their opinions on a range of topics including face masks, temperature checks at theme park entrances, pre-arrival health questionnaires and more. Theses details were reportedly passed on to the SoCal paper from MiceChat who had a look at the survey.
Though steps were recently announced to open the Walt Disney World theme parks in July, Disney has yet to make an official statement on when we might see the West Coast parks open. Governor Gavin Newsom recently said that when the state moves to a Phase 3 opening, location slike Downtown Disney could open up. However, Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the three onsite Disneyland hotels still remain closed until further notice.
However, insiders are seeing the Passholder survey as a sign that progress is being made as similar surveys were sent out to Walt Disney World passholders before parks in Orlando announced their plans to reopen.
According to the Orange County register, questions on the survey included asking passholders how likely they’d be to visit the parks if certain health and safety measurements were implemented. As the piece tells us, one questions focused on three specific options: masks, temperature checks and health questionnaires.
It is very likely, as we’ve seen at both Walt Disney World (which reopened Disney Springs last month) as well as at Shanghai Disney, Disneyland will need to make operational changes in a COVID-19 world. Guests to the park after opening can expect reduced attendance, social distancing in queues, enhanced sanitation procedures, COVID-19 training for Disney cast members and more.
There were three scenarios presented when it came to reopening protocols on the survey. These were as follows:
- Option 1: A scenario where visitors were encouraged but not required to wear face masks.
- Option 2: Masks required for all visitors ages 3 and up.
- Option 3: Masks for those ages 10 and up.
All options included temperature checks and COVID-19 health questionnaires. As you can see face masks still remain the contentious issue at the parks. The face masks policy at Disney Springs has proven difficult to enforce and has resulted in those not in favor of the policy opting to stay away from the parks.
