5 Awesome Disney Network Shows That You Won’t Want To Miss This Week
It’s Monday Disney friends and you know what that means? A whole new week of programming from Disney’s eclectic networks including ABC, Freeform, National Geographic and more.
To help you plot out your tv viewing for the week we’ve compiled a list of 5 programs that we think are simply not-to-be-missed. So be sure to check them out! Happy viewing.
Barkskins—Monday, May 25, at 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic
This series based on the novel of the same name by Annie Proulx will be screening on back-to-back episodes over the next few weeks. The show examines a mysterious massacre of settlers in the wilds of New France in the 1690s which threatens to bring war to the area. An all-star cast has been assembled for this project which includes David Thewlis, Marcia Gay Harden, Aneurin Barnard, James Bloor, Christian Cooke, David Wilmot, Thomas M. Wright, Tallulah Haddon, Kaniehtiio Horn, Lily Sullivan, and Zahn McClarnon. Tonight’s premiere episode “New France,” follows a group of outcasts who must navigate brutal hardships, competing interests, and tangled loyalties. The second episode, “The Turtle King,” will feature Charles Duquet (Bloor) escaping indentured servitude but finding himself at the mercy of a vast forest.
The Genetic Detective—Tuesday, May 26, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC
I’m pretty darn excited about this new prime-time series. It follows investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore who works with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs. In the first episode of the series which airs tomorrow night, Moore teams up with Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office in Seattle to take on her first cold case. With only a few clues and no real leads, the case has been cold for 30 years Can more solve it?
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—Wednesday, May 27, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC
It’s the moment Marvel fans have been waiting for, Season 7 has officially arrived. In the first episode, Clark Gregg, Disney Legend Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, and Jeff Ward return Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust back in time to New York City in 1931. The first episode is titled “The New Deal” and follows the team who must get to the bottom of what happened with Zephyr ready to time just at any moment.
Siren—Thursday, May 28, at 10 p.m. ET on Freeform
On Thursday, Season 3 of Siren comes to a close. The final episode is titled, “The Toll of the Sea” and follows Hope, Ryn (Eline Powell) and Ben (Alex Roe) who confront Tia (Tiffany Lonsdale) in an undersea battle between the mermaid tribes. Also, Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) and Robb (Deniz Akdeniz) are working to find a cure for Xander (Ian Verdun), while Helen (Rena Owen) and the hybrids try to restore order—all while Ted (David Cubitt) struggles to accept Ben’s reality.
Ramy—Friday, May 29, on Hulu
Season to of the comedy series by Golden Globe® Award winner Ramy Youssef is back! The 10 episode season will continue to follow first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youssef) on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood, where he’ll find a new Muslim community and embrace a deeper commitment to his faith. Joining the Ramy cast is two-time Oscar® winner (and soon to be Marvel Blade) Mahershala Ali along with Mohammed Amer, Hiam Abbass, Amr Waked, May Calamawy, Dave Merheje, Laith Nakli, and Steve Way.
