All Signs Point to An NBA Return at Walt Disney World – Several Resort Rooms Removed from Inventory in July
The NBA is looking for any way they can return to the courts for the 2020 season. As we have been reporting, Walt Disney World has been rumored to be at least one of the locations where the season will resume. That rumor has been gaining even more momentum the past few days per several online sources.

ESPN’s Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World
This week on “The Dan Patrick Show” on ESPN, NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, stated Walt Disney World seems to be the front runner for an NBA return. Although, games might be played an additional location as well. Possibly, Vegas.
I think the site is starting to narrow down to a one- or two-site scenario. Orlando has had a lot of traction. I think the question is going to be: Are they going to put all of the teams in one place or are they going to perhaps have teams moving among two sites based on an Eastern or Western Conference scenario?
The one thing Adam Silver has told the players and told the owners, what he doesn’t want are teams flying around. You’re not going to see what baseball is proposing which is teams moving around playing in home stadiums. The NBA is focused on one site, no fans and then they are going to deal with trying to get back into arenas again for the start of the next season.

Yahoo Sports NBA reporter, Keith Smith, also has made an interesting observation. Several rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort have been removed from inventory for this July that were previously available. Coronado Springs would be a great choice for some NBA action since they have the huge convention center right on property that could be transformed into basketball courts. And, of course, there is the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex just a short bus ride away.
Doing a little “investigative journalism”…Fine I was playing on the Disney World site!
Coronado Springs has largely been taken out of inventory for booking in the month of July. It is Disney’s prime convention hotel and recently open a very upgraded resort Tower. (eyes emoji?)

NBA players, coaches, and staff might not be the only ones calling Walt Disney World and Orlando home for a few months. As we previously reported, Major League Soccer (MLS) is also eyeing to resume play at the Resort and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.Smith also referenced that in this Tweet:
Walt Disney World has begun the early stages of re-working some of their hotel spaces for housing the NBA and their needs. The Wide World of Sports Complex has also had some work done in anticipation of hosting the NBA and possibly MLS, per Disney sources.

While all signs point to a return of the NBA at Walt Disney World, nothing is official until confirmed by Disney. Make sure to keep it here at MickeyBlog.com for all the latest!
