Disney Guest Surveys Give A Sense Of What A Visit To The Theme Parks Might Look Like Upon Reopening
The San Francisco Gate just ran a piece regarding Disney theme park guests receiving surveys giving an indication about what the visitor experience might look like when the theme parks reopen. Disney has yet to announce an opening date but when they do we can expect protocols to be put in place similar to those at both Disney Springs (which is re-opening today) and at Shanghai Disney.
According to Reddit users, the surveys went out to Disneyland AP holders and also Walt Disney World guests. One of the questions asked is, “What, if anything, would make you more likely to keep your Walt Disney World reservation for June?”
Options include selections like:
- Coronavirus infections in decrease significantly
- “Proven” COVID-19 treatment becomes available and/or widespread testing is available
- Social-distancing rules are relaxed statewide
Other questions being asked in the survey are what attraction closures would prompt guests to cancel their reservations. Participants are then given an opportunity to list out what attractions would be considered essential to their visits.
A similar Disneyland survey posted on Reddit proposes a number of scenarios and asks guests if they “definitely,” “probably,” “may or may not,” “probably would not” or “definitely would not” visit with those rules in place.

As the SF Gate highlights, all scenarios listed in the surveys involve increased cleanings, “significantly” limiting attendance, and implementing employee education and health screenings. Seating guests on every other row on rides to achieve better physical distancing is also floated.
All of the options listed on the survey also require guests to complete a pre-arrival health questionnaire and the park providing hand sanitizer or wipes.
The survey also asks guests about more relaxed policies which presumably would fall into place once the phased reopening continues this includes guests being “encouraged” but not required to wear face masks, no temperature checks before entering the parks etc.
As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Shanghai Disney was the first theme park to open its doors last week. They opened using a lot of the survey protocols outlined above, this includes temperature checks, mandatory facemasks, social distancing in queues and enhanced sanitation procedures.
Today Disney Springs partially reopens to guests. As part of the requirements, visitors must wear masks at all times except while dining.
