Patton Oswalt Re-joins Agents of SHIELD Season 7
We’ve already mentioned the return of several familiar faces to the seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
With that in mind, there is some real hype for the show because this time around, the SHIELD crew goes back in time to 1931.
In particular, Season 7 gives us a chance to see some familiar faces in the past and see the team from a completely different perspective.
Hello Agent Sousa
First, Enver Gjokaj as Daniel Sousa (a.k.a. Agent Carter’s other boyfriend):
Coulson Returns To SHIELD (Again)?
Secondly, it’s the SHIELD Life Model Decoy of Phil Coulson (as played by Clark Gregg):

What’s The 411
Rachel Paige explained the return of Oswalt to Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD:
Season 7 picks up where Season 6 left off with Coulson and the Agents of SHIELD thrust backward in time to New York City in 1931. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present, and future of the world.
Knowing that it’s no surprise that we’re seeing Oswalt in 1930s garb.
Over the past seven seasons, Oswalt has played Eric Koenig, Billy Koenig, Sam Koenig, and Thurston Koenig, all allies of SHIELD We’ll find out who Oswalt is playing this time.
And of Barnet, we learn bubkus from Marvel.com:
Barnet’s role is still top secret and highly classified (you’re going to need Level 9 clearance or above to access that information).

Of course, we’re really close to the premiere. So, let’s circle back to the plot.
The official boilerplate explains:
From ABC Studios and Marvel Television, “MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for its seventh and final season on WEDNESDAY, MAY 27 (10:00 – 11:00 p.m. EDT). Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present, and future of the world.
SHIELD: City On The Edge Of Tomorrow
In short, I am very excited for this season of SHIELD. Notably, the premise reminds me of one of the best (and saddest) episodes of Star Trek (the original series) City on the Edgel of Tomorrow.
Moreover, I am betting that there will be some amazing times for the team in 1931. Maybe one of them will run into Edith Keeler!
