Hong Kong Disneyland Park Reopening Imminent, Resorts Now Taking Reservations
Not soon after the announcement that Shanghai Disneyland would be reopening on Monday, May 11, 2020; it looks like we will be hearing of another Disney Park opening in the near future. This time it will be be Hong Kong Disneyland!
Per these photos from the Hong Kong Main Street Gazette 大街小報, these photos show that preparations are underway at the Park can open safely and that all Guests and Cast Members can practice social distancing protocols.
Temperature check points have been set up in the area in front of the Disney Station. All Guests will be required to have a temperature screening before entering the Park. Anyone with a fever of 99.5 degrees of above will be denied entry.
Social distancing queues have also been set up to for Guests to go through the mandatory security check. Placards have been placed on the ground advising Guests where they can stand so they are at least six feet away from other Guests. It’s safe to say that Guests will find a similar set up at attractions once they are inside the Park.
In addition, the three Hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland are also now accepting new reservations beginning with a check-in date of May 16, 2020! These include: Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge, and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. However, you will have to call for availability.
Over here in the United States, it was just announced this past week that Disney Springs at Walt Disney World will be reopening as of Wednesday, May 20, 2020. No date has been confirmed when the four Walt Disney World Parks will reopening along with the Resorts. The Disneyland Resort including Downtown Disney remains closed indefinitely.
With Shanghai opening up on Monday and an imminent announcement of Hong Kong Disneyland, this gives me the hope I have been looking for! I know I can’t wait for our domestic parks to reopen!
