Josh D’Aramo Checks in on Animals and Cast Members at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Amid Closure
Even though the Parks and Resorts have been closed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 outbreak, President of Walt Disney World, Josh D’Aramo has been quite busy! He’s been stopping by different locations around the Resort to check-in and give us a glimpse inside our favorite areas. Just last week, he stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to check on how the animals and the Cast Members that handle the animals are doing during this crisis.
While D’Aramo was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, he learned about the legend of the of the lanterns located at the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village. He states on his Instagram account, “These lanterns were inspired by those used in remote African villages. They are thought to protect the household or person carrying them and are used to light up the darkness to show the way back home.”
While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, D’Aramo took a quick socially distanced chat with one of the Animal Programs Cast Members while taking in some amazing view of the savanna.
This past Friday, D’Aramo also made a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to celebrate the Park’s 31st anniversary. Even though the Park is still closed to Guests, D’Aramo coordinated with one of the Park’s engineers to turn on the background music. It was truly a magical moment in such an uncertain time!
Earlier in April, D’Aramo stopped by Epcot to check on essential Cast Members and share some photos of the beautiful horticultural around the Park.It was so reassuring to see those iconic toparies from the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival were still maintained and waiting for Guests to return.
While we still might not know when our favorite Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts will reopen, I am thankful that D’Aramo is sharing these moments with us. I don’t know about you, but I am ready to start planning my next stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge now!
