Tom Hanks and Wife Rita Wilson Donating Blood To Help Create COVID-19 Vaccine
As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Tom Hanks and his wife both tested positive for COVID-19 while in Australia resulting in their quarantine. Thankfully they have made a fully recovery and are now hoping to give back in a race to come up with a cure for the virus.
Upon arriving back in the US following their quarantine aborad, Tom and Rita have enrolled in a medical study to test whether their antibodies can be useful in helping scientists develop a vaccine against the coronavirus. Hanks said during an interview with MSN that they have been approved to donate blood as they currently carry the COVID-19 antibodies.
Tom said in the interview that he hopes this blood donafted provides to be useful in finding a “Hank-ccine” to combad the virus. hopes
The Toy Story actor previously revealed that his wife Rita suffered much worse coronavirus symptoms than he did and he was concerned for her health.
He said: “Rita went through a tougher time than I did. She had a much-higher fever and she had some other symptoms. She lost her sense of taste and smell. She got absolutely no joy from food for a better part of three weeks. She was so nauseous, she had to crawl on the floor from the bed to the facilities. It lasted a while.”
