Check Out The Way Disneyland Paris’ Environmental and Biodiversity Efforts Protect Nature
As earth week comes to a close, we here at MickeyBlog wanted to take a minute to share with you some of the ways that Disneyland Paris is dedicated to being a sustainable and responsible member of the community. The Magic Keepers on the horticulture team are responsible for maintaining the magical at Disneyland Paris and are coming up with some ways that we can experience a bit of that magic at home.
Throughout the past month, Disney’s European theme park has shared updates on its commitment to the environment which it divides into three “Key Priorities”: reducing environment impact, enriching biodiversity and inspiring guests and cast members to take action for the environment.
This video offers us an interesting look at how DLP is doing all three:
We think its also important to recognize the Magic Keepers who despite the theme park shutdowns work tirelessly to maintain the magic at the parks. At Disneyland Paris, members of the Nature and Environment team are taking care of the resort’s green spaces including tending to flowers, shrubs and trees.
You can find out more about their role here.
Throughout the year, the resort’s gardeners and arborculturalists work on innovative and sustainable initiatives to promote biodiversity throughout Disneyland Paris. Afterall, the park has more than 400 hectares of green spaces that need to be maintained. When doing this, the team is always mindful of preserving local heritage.
Disneyland Paris has teamed up with Wakatoon to launch and interactive coloring game for guests combining imaginative play, creativity and education when it comes to the environment and sustainability. Now, you can enjoy the digital version of the game at home! Check it out here.
The game allows families to work together coloring drawings of Mickey and Minnie. These images can then be updated using the Wakatoon app whre guests can see them come to life. It’s an incredible way to learn how recycling works!
