VIDEO: Dr. Jane Goodall Congratulates Disney Conservation Fund on 25th Anniversary
Here at MickeyBlog, we can’t think of a better birthday present as the Disney Conservation Fund prepares to celebrate 25 years of making an impact on animal communities around the globe than by receiving a warm note of congratulations from the one and only Jane Goodall!
Dr. Goodall is a world-renowned scientist whose work on primates has been revolutionary. She is also the Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and is a U.N. Messenger of Peace. She’s also the star of a new documentary Jane Goodall: The Hope which as we previously mentioned here on MickeyBlog will be premiering on April 22nd at 9EST on Nat Geo.
Let’s take a look at her message!
Since it’s inception on Earth Day 25 years ago, The Disney Conservation Fund (DCF) has directed over $100 million to protect nature. This includes supporting over 600 nonprofit organizations that work with communities to save wildlife, inspire conservation and work to protect the planet. Through a grant program, the DCF has helped protect more than 315 million acres of habitat as well as 1,000 species globally. This includes everything from butterflies and bees to lions and leopards!
We’ve got another video outline for you the Disney Conservation Funds outstanding efforts. Check it out:
All of the accomplishments outlined above are only possible through collaborations and dedicated people. This includes DCF wildlife staff who lead scientific programs at the theme parks and beyond. There are also hundreds of Disney employees and cast members who reinforce the importance of these efforts every day whether that be working on funding proposals or sharing stories at Animal Kingdom that will inspire future conservationists!
