Legendary Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr Shares His Very Own Tiki Cocktail Recipe
Just in time for the weekend we’ve got delicious and delightful libation compliments of Bob Gurr, one of Disney’s most-loved and legendary Imagineers.
Gurr, recently hosted the first Happily Ever After Hours, a special online event held by the Walt Disney Family Museum, which like most museums in the country is currently shuttered but offering a fun array of programming online. One of the highlights of the Happy Hour was Gurr sharing a pretty incredible cocktail recipe. I give you the “Gurtiki.”
Check out the official tweet from the museum here:
Last night we hosted our first Happily Ever After Hours with Disney Legend Imagineer Bob Gurr. Bob shared the recipe for his vaunted concoction—the "Gurrtiki." Bob gave us permission to share his recipe with the world, with the request that you "Gurrtiki" responsibly. pic.twitter.com/gIt6Om8qEb

Gurr has given The Walt Disney Family Museum permission to share this delightful brew with the masses. So here is the Gurrtikie for those over 21.
Step 1: Fill 3/4 of a hurricane cup with cubed ice
Step 2: Add a 2:1 ratio of Naked “Mighty Mango” fruit smoothie and pineapple juice.
Step 3: Add 1 oz vodka, rum, gin or tequila.
Step 4: Stir and garnish with a tall stick with a pineapple spear, kiwi slice, mango ball and a cherry.
Step 5: Served with a colorful bent straw.
Bob also notes that the cocktail is delicious without the alcohol meaning that kids can enjoy along in the fun. With alcohol guests are advised to drink responsibly.
The Walt Disney Family Museum is holding regular Happily Ever After events. The next one (which unfortunately is sold out) is coming up on Wednesday, April 22nd and features Disney Directors Brenda Chapman and Kevin Lima. The next event after that will take place on Friday, April 24th and will feature composer Fabrizio Mancinelli. During this event and coming to you on Zoom from his home, Mancinelli will discuss his process for composing films, his work on Andreas Deja’s upcoming animated film Mushka alongside Disney Legend songwriter and composer Richard Sherman, and how the music of Disney’s Fantasia (1940) influenced his career.
These events sell out quickly so we recommend your register ASAP here.
