Ariana Grande in a Live-Action Disney Movie?

Live-action remakes of classic Disney films are Disney’s newest trend.  Popular celebrities are a big draw in the live-action films. Will Smith in Aladdin and Angelina Jolie in Maleficent are two good examples.  But, Ariana Grande recently posted her Disney character wish.

Obviously, there is not comment with this post, but we can only imagine that Grande would make the perfect Megara.  Besides the signature pony tail that both Megara and Grande wear, Meg has some pretty awesome musical numbers in the film.   Grande would be a good choice to handle these songs.

Grande has worked on soundtracks before.  She performed another song from Hercules, “Zero to Hero” on the We Love Disney Album and  most recently worked on the soundtrack for the movie Charlie’s Angels.

The movie Hercules would be a great edition to Disney’s live-action cannon.  Here is the official description of the movie: 

“Taken from the gods as a newborn and adopted on earth, Hercules is just an awkward pillar of strength trying to fit in. What he wants most is to impress his father Zeus. When Hercules discovers Hades’ sinister plot to take over Mount Olympus, he goes from zero to hero and, with the help of his pals Pegasus and Phil, discovers that real strength comes from the heart! With the voices of Tate Donovan, Danny DeVito, James Woods, Susan Egan, Bobcat Goldthwait, Charlton Heston, Rip Torn and Samantha Eggar. Music by Alan Menken. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin).

The song “Go the Distance” from Hercules was recently performed by Broadway stars as a lead in to ABC’s Day of Hope that honored workers who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The song’s lyrics are especially relevant right now.
