Disney DIY: Fans of All Ages Will Love These Pixar-Inspired Character Coasters
One of the things keeping us going during our time in COVID quarantine is all of the exciting DIY projects that Disney has been sharing! Case in point are these absolutely delightful and surprisingly easy to make character coasters inspired by some of your favorite Pixar friends.
So follow along, pick up some of the materials needed and let’s get crafting! The finished product is something that you’ll be proud to display all year round!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 x 4 Cork Tiles
- Acrylic Paints
- Printout stencils
- X-ACTO Knife
- Permanent Markers
Step A: Using a pen or pencil and a round object for an outline, trace a circle onto your cork tile.
Step C: Place your cutout stencil onto your round coaster. Hold your stencil tightly in place and being to dab paint on lightly. For Mike, Baymax and the Toy Story alien, focus on larger blocks of color as a starting point.
Step D: Let your coasters dry completely. This will take AT LEAST 15 minutes.
Step E: Once dry, you can add in all of those extra adorable details using a permanent marker (like a black Sharpie) or a tiny painbrush.
Quick Tip: Disney advises that you protect the coasters from water damage by applying a waterproof craft sealant and let the coat dry completely before use!
