Check Out Disney’s Updated Cinematic Release Schedule
Today was brimming with announcements from Walt Disney Studios. Earlier today we here at MickeyBlog shared the news that both Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon are having their cinematic releases delayed.
This is on top of previous announcements that Mulan, Black Widow, Jungle Cruise and The Eternals are all being shifted forward. With that in mind, we thought you might benefit from a complete rundown on when we can expect Disney and Fox’s major motion pictures to be heading to the cinema. Let’s take a look!

2020
- Mulan (Disney)—July 24, 2020
- Empty Man (20th Century Studios)—August 7, 2020
- The One and Only Ivan (Disney)—August 14, 2020
- The Beatles: Get Back (Disney)—September 4, 2020
- The King’s Man (20th Century Studios)—September 18, 2020
- Death on the Nile (20th Century Studios)—October 9, 2020
- The French Dispatch (Searchlight Pictures)—October 16, 2020
- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (20th Century Studios)—October 23, 2020
- Black Widow (Marvel Studios)—November 6, 2020
- Deep Water (20th Century Studios)—November 13, 2020
- Soul (Disney and Pixar)—November 20, 2020
- Free Guy (20th Century Studios)—December 11, 2020

- The Last Duel (20th Century Studios)—December 25, 2020 (limited)
The important takeaway from this is that Disney has opted not to screen any films before July. Mulan is first out of the gate and won’t open until later in the month- July 24th. Soul and Black Widow which are expected to be heavy hitters have been cautiously moved to November.

As we enter 2021, Disney seems relatively confident that things will be back to normal. with the release of Raya and the Last Dragon in February and Marvel’s The Eternals in March.

Wow! 2022 is going to be a MASSIVE year for moviegoers with Thor, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Indiana Jones and Star Wars! Just hold out for those bright days ahead all you avid moviegoers! It will get better!!
Last but not least, in a release today, Disney also re-confirmed that Artemis Fowl directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Colin Farrell will indeed be a direct to Disney+ release. As of yet, no date has been given but Disney teased that new information will be released very soon!
Depending on closures related to COVID-19 and how long it takes ailing theaters like AMC to get back on their feet, we may see further delays particularly when it comes to Disney’s Mulan. Readers are encouraged to keep following with along with MickeyBlog and we promise to keep you posted.
