“Friday Night Movie” Announced By Disney And Target
Looking for something to do tonight? I have some new options for you to consider! Target and Disney have teamed up to launch a new family friendly series called Friday Night Movie. This is a way to bring more entertainment with limited commercial interruption for families to enjoy time together. ESPN, Freeform and FX are the three networks that will be participating, airing movies from April 10 through May 1.
During Friday Night Movie families can enjoy beloved films in the comfort of their homes during these times of change and uncertainty. During family favorites such as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Iron Man 2″, content featured in the limited ads provides commentary and entertainment. On ESPN, it will include trivia and newly recorded interviews with popular talent such as Louis Riddick and Mike Golic Sr. On Freeform viewers will see their favorite stars from the network during the PSAs and custom content encouraging togetherness while staying at home.
“We know many families are looking for different ways to spend time together in the comfort of their own homes,” said Rick Gomez, Target executive vice president and chief marketing, digital and strategy officer. “Target is proud to partner with Disney to offer Friday Night Movie, giving families another option as they stay home and stay safe.”
Disney Advertising Sales’ ad unit, CreativeWorks, developed inventive custom content spots for Friday Night Movie. This includes a segment that will run during “You Don’t Know Bo” on ESPN. It uses videos of ESPN talent, who filmed in their own homes, reflect on the legacy of Bo Jackson. These interviews will continue throughout the program leveraging ESPN talent and, on occasion, athletes.
“Disney is committed to continuously providing families entertainment especially during these unprecedented times,” said Wendell Scott, senior vice president, Disney Advertising Sales. “Together with Target, we’re meeting families where they are in their homes and delivering fun and exciting movies with a limited commercial experience.”
