Projected Release Dates For Upcoming Star Wars Projects
There has been much speculation on when we might expect to see upcoming Star Wars projects both across Disney’s new streaming network Disney+ and in theaters. However, a recent French PowerPoint presentation has emerged seemingly detailing upcoming Star Wars based Disney+ releases!
According to the report the Cassian Andor/Rogue One based spin-off is slated for 2021 and we may finally see Ewan McGregor return to the role of Obi-wan Kenobi in his own Disney+ series but not until 2022.

Though many sites are covering the news, ScreenRant points out the report (above) also features Disney+ subscriber data from February 2020. This means that this report may have been Disney’s plans pre-coronavirus with essential adjustments still to be made. With the recent shutter of theaters, film studios and productions worldwide, we are seeing many adjustments to Disney’s release schedule including for titles like Loki, WandaVision, The Little Mermaid and more.
However, for now, it does give us all faint glimmer of hope that we may be Feeling the Force at some point again soon!

So where does that leave Disney’s feature films? And how do those releases coincide with the Disney+ series slated for release? Star Wars Stuff sent out a tweet this week addressing precisely that!
First up the beloved Disney+ series, The Mandalorian will be making a return (with Baby Yoda of course) later this year! This series will reportedly be followed by the Cassian Andor series we mentioned above.
That brings us to 2022 where we might see Obi-Wan join the Disney+ line-up with his own series! The same year, we should see the first of three new Star Wars films slated for major movie releases!
As we previously mentioned here at MickeyBlog, these are expected to run in tandem with James Cameron’s Pandora films. Star Wars will be released in 2022, 2024 and 2026 and Avatar in 2021, 2023 and 2025.
Wondering how all of the existing films and series fit together!? Check out this article that provides a timeline of Star Wars events so far!
