The Holidays at the Animal Kingdom
Last year, Animal Kingdom pulled out all of the stops throwing their first Holiday Celebration! Stunning animal puppets strolled the grounds, the iconic Tree of Life light up with projections of wonderful holiday-themed vignettes and Discovery Island was wonderfully illuminated for a Winter Festival. Even the inhabitants of Pandora got in on the fun.with an ex-pat celebration!
Resorts That Truly Dazzle
Disney resorts are positively magical any time of year. However, during the holiday season they really come into their own. Think towering Christmas trees, life-sized gingerbread creations, garlands, tinsel and ornaments galore and so much more. You’ll never forget the feeling of strolling through the grand lobby of a Disney resort in the lead-in to Christmas.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
The highlight of any Walt Disney World holiday visit is definitely this special ticketed event held on select nights each year at the Magic Kingdom. This special offering has it all: meet and greets with unique characters, stage shows, Santa Claus, special eats and treats, holiday fireworks and a parade with toy soldiers, gingerbread men and some of your favorite Disney friends. Oh, and did we mention they make it snow on Main Street?

Holiday Fireworks at Magic Kingdom
Let’s just say that they holiday fireworks during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are so magical that they get their own mention! Hosted by the one-and-only Minnie Mouse fans of all ages can celebrate the magic of Christmas while you sing along with Minnie to your favorite holiday carols like “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls.” And don’t get us started on the pyrotechnics. Trust us when we say that its so magnificent and wonderful that it brings a tear to our eyes every time!
Epcot International Festival of the Holidays
No holiday visit to Disney World would be complete without a day at EPCOT. Each season the Festival of the Holidays brings the sights, smells, tastes and sounds of Christmas traditions from around the world. As you stroll around the World Showcase you can sample holiday dishes from around the world at the Festival Kitchens. Holiday storytellers are on hand at each country to give you a taste of how they celebrate the season and the park comes alive with a stunning array of Christmas decorations.
Candlelight Processional
These special performances taking part several times a night as part of the EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays are definitely a highlight of a holiday visit to Disney. These magical retellings of the first Christmas feature celebrate narrators, full orchestra and a massive choir in a production like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Disney special Candlelight Processional dining packages also give guests a chance to enjoy a meal at one of EPCOT’s amazing eateries coupled with guaranteed seating for the show!
Special Holiday Tours
If you’re a Disney history buff like me then Disney has two special holiday tours that take you behind the scenes to show you how Disney preps for the holidays! The Yuletide Fantasy Tour takes guests on a 3-hour adventure where you’ll learn how designers come up with the incredible holiday decor found throughout the parks, visit the Floral Department to see how the holiday displays are made and collaborate with a Disney Springs culinary artist to whip up a holiday treat! There’s also the Holiday D-Lights tour which takes place during the evening and focuses on Disney World’s incredible holiday lights displays! These extra doses of Disney magic are not-to-be-missed!
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
And don’t forget about a visit to Hollywood Studios! This theme park has it all during the holidays. Sunset Boulevard is all lit up with a beautiful array of holiday projections. Andy decorates his toy set for the season over at Toy Story Land and you won’t want to miss Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! This nighttime offerings is a real seasonal show-stopper and features castle projections, state-of-the-art special effects and festive pyrotechnics all set amongst the backdrop of the gorgeous Chinese Theater.

Each year the culinary geniuses pull out all of the stops when it comes to serving up incredible holiday-inspired eats and treats. Across all four theme parks and resorts, you’ll find a tantalizing array of sweet treats, holiday confections, boozy cocktails, special dining experiences and more!
