Disney+ Is Updating All Simpsons Episodes To a 4:3 Crop Available To View Next Month
When Disney first launched their streaming network last November, one thing that had grown-up fans excited was that with Disney’s recent acquisition of FOX, all of the Simpsons episodes would appear on Disney+.
However, the excitement of having access to a treasure trove of Simpson episodes quickly gave way to complaints with many avid fans arguing that due to the widescreen crop Disney used to format the episodes, important details are being completely left out.
Disney was quick to respond arguing that they would be moving away from the 16:9 ratio used when readying the series for the streaming network and would instead revert back to the original 4:3 that fans are accustomed to.
In an official tweet from the streaming network, Disney has said they’d have all episodes updated by the end of May.
We appreciate our fans’ patience and are working to make the first 19 Seasons (and part of 20) of #TheSimpsons available in 4:3 versions on #DisneyPlus. We expect to accomplish this by the end of May.
