No Trespassing at Disneyland During Closure But Police Remain Onsite
As we reported on Friday, the Walt Disney Company has made the decision to keep both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort closed until further notice.
This raises a question about trespassing and accessibility while the parks are dark. However, a recent piece in the Hollywood Reporter puts everyone’s mind at ease!
Anaheim police told the Hollywood Reporter on Saturday that all has been well at the theme park since it closed on March 14th. However, officers will remain onsite during the closure period to make sure that the park is safe. This is particularly important given the recent social media trend of people trying to take pictures at empty off-limit areas.
Recently, here at MickeyBlog, we shared a report about guests breaking into Walt Disney World after hours and posting images online.
The Walt Disney Co announced on Friday that they would be closed until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak as it continues to spread across the US.
“While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains The Walt Disney Company’s top priority,” a statement from the company reads. “As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.”
The company added that it “has been paying its cast members since the closure of the parks, and in light of this ongoing and increasingly complex crisis, we have made the decision to extend paying hourly parks and resorts cast members through April 18.”
