Cirque Du Soleil’s “Drawn To Life” Sends Out Notification To Guests of Cancelled Previews
As we reported earlier this week Cirque du Soleil has cancelled previews for its production “Drawn to Life” at Disney Springs which was slated to start in early April.
Ticket holders are currently being sent a notification from the company announcing the closure. Here’s a look:
The company has had to shutter shows around the world including several in Las Vegas and numerous overseas due to the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus. Here’s a quick look at all the shows impacted:
The company has also laid off 95% of its staff due to financial hardships as a result of the closure. They are down to a small staff of administrators to see the company through the closure.
“Drawn to Life” was expected to be a big draw for Disney Spring’s West End. Combining all of the exciting elements of one of Cirque Du Soleil’s incredible productions with an infusion of Disney magic it was being hailed as an acrobatic journey!
When open, the production will tell the story of Julie a girl who discovers an unexpected gift from her father who is a Disney Animator – an unfinished animation. This is the catalyst for Julies inspiring quest guided by a surprising pencil and filled with childhood Disney memories!
As we reported yesterday, Disney has extended the closure of Walt Disney World Resort until further notice. Located in Disney Springs, there is no information on when “Drawn to Life” will re-open. This is a story we’ll be following closely and we promise to keep you updated.
