Orange County Issues ‘Shelter in Place’ Order, Walt Disney World Likely Not Opening Prior to April 9
As we continue covering the Coronavirus outbreak here in the United States, we have some important information to pass along. Orange County, where Walt Disney World is mostly located, has just issued a “Shelter in Place” order.
The “Shelter in Place” order goes into effect on Thursday, March 26 at 11 pm and is scheduled to last for two weeks. The two week period is scheduled to end on Thursday, April 9 making it extremely unlikely that Walt Disney World will open on April 1 as previously announced.
The Orange County “Shelter in Place” order allows people to travel for essential business as well as to and from the grocery store and pharmacy. Outdoor activities such as going on walks are still permitted but not in large groups.
It is important to note that Walt Disney World has not yet made an official announcement regarding when they will reopen. But, as mentioned, this new Orange County “Shelter in Place” order likely means the Parks will reopen on April 10 at the earliest. Make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog.com for all the latest!

This is a false statement. The order given was a “Stay at Home” order NOT a shelter in place.
