Disneyland Dapper Day Gets Pushed To Summer Amid COVID-19 Closure
Dapper Day is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the Spring. Each year thousands of Disney fans in some pretty amazing vintage looks flock to the parks in celebration of the Disney of days gone by.
Unfortunately, the Dapper Days Expo which was scheduled to take place this year from April 18 – April 19th at the Disneyland Hotel conference centre is now being pushed back to June 20 -21 as a result of park closures due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

OC Register pointed out in a recent article that the original Dapper Day Spring Outing still remains on the calendar for April 19th. However, the summer “encore” event has been added to coincide with the new expo dates outlined above.
“The Expo was moved to a date that we hope will not be as severely impacted by the current situation impacting health, safety and travel,” said Dapper Day founder Justin J. in an email to the OC Register. “Likewise, our ‘encore’ June 21 park outing over Father’s Day was added in case Disney’s Anaheim parks are not open over April 19, as well as providing our audience with an alternate date hopefully less likely to be impacted by travel or safety issues.”
As we’ve previously reported here at MickeyBlog Disneyland’s two theme parks, three onsite hotels and Downtown Disney are (as of going to print) slated to remain closed through until the end of March.
The upcoming Dapper Day outings at Walt Disney World (May 2 and 3) and Disneyland Paris (May 9) remain on the calendar as planned.

For these events, it’s all about the art of dressing up. Men typically wear suits, hats, bow ties, suspenders and wingtip shoes. Women dress in vintage dresses, shirts, high heels and bring parasols.
The first Dapper Day outing was held at Disneyland in February 2011. Since then the event has spread to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris. It should be noted that this is an “unofficial” Disney event and though embraced by the theme parks is not a directly affiliated with the Walt Disney Company.
