Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Lets ALL Staff Go Amid Disney Springs Closure
Homecomin’, Chef Art Smith’s Disney Springs eatery known for delicious Florida-inspired comfort food has just let ALL employees know that they are being let go as the result of the COVID-19 outbreak and Walt Disney World closures.
Here’s a look at the official statement that went out to employees
Though there is still much speculation as to when things might re-open at Walt Disney World including Disney Springs – Disney’s downtown shopping district, the statement echos sentiments that we’ve been hearing over the last few days that closures are likely to push into Summer.
As you can see from the statement above, the restaurant has let ALL staff go. According to the official statement, this allows staff to collect unemployment and any other available government assistance during the closure.
As you can see from the statement above the company is pre-paying health care through April 30th and may be considering donating meals during the shutdown.
This is another sad story of Orlando businesses struggling during this unexpected turn of events. Over the past week, we have reported on closures at Raglan Road, Wine Bar George, House of Blues and more. We also shared the news that Ample Hills Creamery which currently has a shop at Disney’s Boardwalk has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
