The Rock Isn’t Ruling Out That ‘Jungle Cruise’ Film May Be Postponed
We’ve been talking a lot over the last few days about all of the Disney projects that have been put on hold. Whether its production for the Avatar 2 sequel or pulling Mulan’s release date- the COVID-19 virus is having a MASSIVE impact on the film industry.
That’s why Dwayne Johnson, in a recent Audience Q&A disclosed that his isn’t ‘ruling out’ the possibility of his upcoming project Jungle Cruise gets rescheduled for its current July release date.
Junge Cruise is a live-action film that provides a fun backstory to the much-loved Disneyland and Magic Kingdom ride. It stars Johnson (who is also the Executive Producer for the film) as Captain Frank, a riverboat captain hired by Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) along with her brother McGregor (Jack Whitehall) to search the Amazon for a mystical tree with healing powers.

To stay connected to fans during the coronavirus outbreak, Johnson has answered fans questions on Instagram. In his most recent video posted earlier today, he talks about the films potential delay. When asked if the film is still slated to come out this Summer her answered: “Maybe. Hopefully! We’ll see if we’re gonna come out this summer. It all depends, we will continue to gauge our global situation, and we’ll see.”
As ScreenRant points out, as of going to print, no films beyond May have been delayed. But, with the future unclear its something we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for. Keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates.
