Mississippi Woman Tests Positive For Coronavirus after Taking Disney Cruise From New Orleans To Mexico
The Sun- Herald out of Hancock County Mississippi is reporting that a local woman has been diagnosed with the coronavirus and is in self-quarantine with her daughter. The as-yet-unnamed woman received the diagnosis on Saturday evening.
The woman underwent testing in Louisiana on Thursday and according to the article reported. “She had been feeling sick throughout the week, but not with the type of symptoms you read about,” the patient’s spokesman Darnell Cuevas said Monday.
The 74-year old woman had been on a Disney Wonder cruise that departed from New Orleans over Mardi Gras week. The sailing dates were from February 27 – March 2, 2020.
The woman’s daughter was also ill but her condition is improving according to reports. She had not been tested for COVID-19 but was in self-quarantine along with her mother.
As of going to print, there have been 12 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the state of Mississippi with 289 people tested.
