Let’s All Go to Epcot in Walt Disney World!
Yes, Disney’s theme parks are closed around the world, but there’s nothing to stop us from imagining that we’re visiting right now. In fact, we have the parks to ourselves this way!
So, let’s all think about what we’d be doing if we were at Walt Disney World right now. In fact, thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can have a believable pretend day at EPCOT.

First Things First
We should start at Rope Drop, because we’re serious fans. And what’s the best rope drop ride? My vote goes to Soarin’ Around the World. So, let’s all head over to The Land pavilion!
Along the way, make sure to admire the majesty of Spaceship Earth. Feel free to take a photo as you’re walking by the attraction. If you’re lucky, a Disney photographer might even be standing in the area.
Once you’re done, take the path by The Seas with Nemo and Friends, which Disney has opened during the park renovations. It’s a more direct route.
You should reach The Land within a few minutes, and here’s your reward.
Wasn’t that terrific? However, we’re fantasizing, so we can do what we want. While we’re there, we might as well travel back in time and take a spin on Soarin’ Over California, too.
While we don’t need a break just yet, we might as well do Living With the Land, because it’s wonderful! Also, guess what? It’s the holidays, apparently!
Once we’re done with Living with the Land, we should leave the building and head across the walkway to visit Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
Wait, wait, wait. We don’t want THAT Figment. We want THIS one. You know, the Figment ride everyone misses!
Then, we’ll walk over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, where we’ll try to help Marlin and Dory locate Nemo once again.
Bruce the Shark almost got us that time. Also, I’ve got “In The Big Blue World” as an earworm now.
Time for Lunch!
Okay, we’ve gotten a lot done, so it’s time to grab a bite to eat. Let’s wander over to the Canada pavilion and visit the popcorn stand to enjoy a salty snack. It will tide us over as we walk around to the other side of the World Showcase. Somehow, my feet aren’t the least bit sore today.
Our destination is the San Angel Inn Restaurante at the Mexico pavilion, which we will have no trouble finding. I mean, look at this giant pyramid.
Since we’ve got the run of the place, we’ll sit right by the water and watch the boats pass by. This restaurante adjoins the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros and provides one of the most scenic backdrops at Walt Disney World.
Now, you may wonder why we grabbed a snack on our way to lunch. We’re using our imaginations! The calories don’t count! In fact, we will end this meal with Helado de Dulce de Leche, aka caramel ice cream. That gives us something salty beforehand and something sweet afterward.
While we’re here, we might as well join Donald and his amigos on the nearby boat ride.
Afternoon Delight
Once we’re finished, a bit of shopping at the Mexico pavilion is always fun. This place has the coolest hats… not counting mouse ears.
While we’re at the back of the park, we might as well visit Frozen Ever After. It’ll be easy, and the best part is that we don’t have to wait in line for once!
Since we’re already at the Norway pavilion, let’s meet Anna and Elsa, too!
You know what? I love Arendelle, but I’d also like to take a trip back in time to when the Norway pavilion was more focused on Norway. What do you say we hop on Maelstrom?
Okay, we’re done with Norway, but my wife will kill me if we don’t stop in Mitsukoshi at the Japan pavilion.
Also, since I like keeping my wife happy, let’s check out the Kawaii exhibition for the umpteenth time. I guarantee that I have more photographs of this exhibit than you do.
The World (Showcase) Is Our Oyster
We’re almost ready to head back to the front of EPCOT. However, since the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is going on, we might as well grab some Frushi.

Next, we’ll almost complete the circle around the World Showcase by making our way to the France pavilion to watch the Beauty and the Beast Sing-along Film.
Now that it’s later in the afternoon, the crowds at Spaceship Earth should have died down. So, let’s head to the front of the park. We don’t mind crisscrossing Epcot because we’re wearing comfortable imaginary shoes…or maybe even roller skates.
And hey, since we’re already on a time travel vehicle, let’s head back to 1994 to watch an earlier version of Spaceship Earth, too.

Afterward, since we’re still in the past, let’s head over to the World of Motion pavilion.

Later, we’ll watch in awe as it transforms into Test Track before our eyes.
The Home Stretch
Today is also the best day to do Mission: SPACE, because we can all do the Orange version. Nobody has to beg off due to motion sickness issues when we’re watching on YouTube!
While we’re in the area, I’m always down for a ride on Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Aren’t you? Honestly, the park feels a little emptier without it.
Now, it’s time to end the evening the best possible way. We’ll eat dinner at Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom pavilion, complete with Sticky Toffee Pudding. We’ll watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth from the outside patio of the restaurant, where the temperature is just perfect.
If you like EPCOT forever, we can do that, too.
And with that, we’re done! Let’s all jump on the Disney Skyliner and head home after a wonderful park day at Epcot!
