Bob Iger Gets Called Out for Twitter Comment
ESPN has understandably had some challenges finding content for their channels since the sports world has essentially shut down. Sportscenter tweeted the hashtag #Senior Night and has been showcasing high school seniors whose sports seasons have been cut short.
Disney Chairman Bob Iger commented on the tweet, but made a slight error in doing so.
Tonight, we salute you
Thank you @SCottvanpelt and thank you @espn! Keep your spirit alive!
— Robert Iger (@RobertIger) March 17, 2020
ESPN is owned by Disney and Iger has always been a strong supporter of the network. Shortly after Sportscenter’s tweet,Iger commented with, “Thank you @SCottvanpelt and thank you @espn! Keep your spirit alive!”
While it was a nice an innocent comment by Iger, he made a slight error as @Ryano1L states below.
Poor Scott. Never got an invite to the ESPYs and now the big Disney boss doesn’t tag him with his twitter handle. @notthefakeSVP.

Right Name, Wrong Guy
Iger meant to tag ESPN anchor Scott Van Pelt in his comment. While Van Pelt was correctly tagged in the ESPN tweet (@notthefakeSVP), somehow Iger tagged an inactive/suspended account @SCottvanpelt. Ryano1Lpoints out the error.
As MickeyBlog reported on February 25, Iger stepped down as Disney CEO with Bob Chapek taking over the helm effective immediately.
